On September 2nd, the “Biblical Christianity” blog joined the list of blogs breaking the commandment “thou shall not steal” when it used an edited photo of Mark Driscoll at the Crystal Cathedral that is copyrighted by me.

Yes, Mark Driscoll stated in response to CRN that he liked The Bible Answer Man. Odds are he may have had CRN in mind as a bad one but I cannot read his mind. I cannot help but wonder if CRN attacked this YouTube video because it was posted here and my other blog. I posted it because I am sick of their paranoid spiritual discernment silly-ness. Even James White has made similar statements about paranoid discernment ministries but James White is popular with CRN whereas Mark Driscoll is not. I know James White well enough to know that he doesn’t buy into CRN spiritual discernment silly-ness anymore than R. C. Sproul does. Even John Piper doesn’t buy into the typical CRN spiritual discernment silly-ness. CRN is but a very small sect in Christendom who claims to be Reformed Faith but are they really?

The Online Spiritual Discernmentalist Mafia loves to do satire of the all too typical CRN paranoid spiritual discernment silly-ness.

Concerning Mark Driscoll…..

I am fully aware that Mark Driscoll has sometimes rather creative ways of understanding the Bible. He has some strange teachings about sex. He has some controversial ideas about the Song of Songs and he has created a ecumentical group of Christians who hate him with a passion that includes Eastern Orthodox, Lutheran, Baptist, Presbyterians, and other Christian sects that normally would be too busy attacking each other unless they find a common enemy like Mark Driscoll. I believe Mark Driscoll should be given an award for breaking down the walls between various Christians sects.

None of the less Mark Driscoll is a Calvinist. He has yet to become as controversial as Martin Luther, he has yet to burn anyone at the stake as a heretic like John Calvin, he repents over and over again with Godly repentance, he has lately managed to become more humble which has to evidence that he really is born again from above, and he appears to be improving in his use of the Bible verses. He does have good points on some issues like Abraham Lincoln had on the Slavery Issue; but like Lincoln there are persons who hate what Driscoll has to say on some issues. Driscoll has yet to divide Christendom like Abraham Lincoln managed to divide the United States into two waring camps. If anything Driscoll appears to be uniting Christendom against Driscoll-ism.

Therefore, I find it difficult to condemn Mark Driscoll without condemning John Calvin, Martin Luther, and Abraham Lincoln. OK, so Mark Driscoll cannot walk on water but even Peter had a difficult time walking on water per the Bible.

Whatever happened to grace? Get a life and stop attacking Mark Driscoll. He reminds me of Martin Luther and I believe American Christendom needs someone like Martin Luther as unfortunately both Greg Bahnsen and Francis Schaeffer are dead. The typical pastor in American Christendom is too boring and Mark Driscoll is anything but boring. If you cannot stand controversy when find another religion as Christianity has historically been controversial until Americans tried to water Christianity down into something family values friendly. As Driscoll has correctly proven like Lincoln proved that Slavery is a bad idea; Christianity is not family values friendly per the American 21st century attempt to force it to be.

Odds are the persons who hate Driscoll would hate Martin Luther too if he was still alive.

Yes, I know that Abraham Lincoln had very strange ideas about God. I have no idea if God’s grace was sufficient to save Abraham Lincoln or not as I am not God.

Joel Osteen: Christless “Christianity” (WHI)

As I recall Bob Ross attacks James White and defends Joel Osteen. There are times I believe that Bob Ross has lost it because like James White I am having a hard time believing that Bob Ross is truly Reformed anymore. Also, I have a hard time believing that Stephen Macasil or Ken Silva is truly Reformed. I do post Bob Ross material connected to Larry Wessels as I find it useful because this was material published when Bob Ross appeared to be somewhat Reformed, but since that time he appears to have lost in my opinion his Reformed Faith standing. Having read some of Bob Ross’s material before he did a grand jump into sillyness; there was evidence that Bob Ross was never truly Reformed Faith as he loved to quote non-Reformed Baptist or should I say non-Calvinist Baptist and hold these men in high esteem as equal to C. H. Spurgeon and other Calvinist Baptist. Bob Ross has a spiritual discernment problem but perhaps it is a systematic theology problem. The systematic theology book that Bob Ross loves to quote from is one done by a non-Calvinist Baptist. I got this Systematic Theology book because Bob Ross recommended it and started reading it; I became very disappointed as it had in it attacks on Calvinism. For the record, I believe Bob Ross may be right enough in this confession of faith to be saved from eternal Hell fire; but I am not God and only God knows for sure.

I simply wish that Bob Ross would stop acting like a bully but he is not the only person in Christendom that I wish would stop acting like a Calvinist Pope. One Calvinist Pope is one too many but Robert Albert Morey, Ken Silva, Stephen Macasil, and Bob Ross creates four different Calvinist Popes and it is impossible to be faithful to all four.

It is no mistake that Bob Ross has a blog called the Calvinist Flyswatter. One can only hope that someday Bob Ross will realize that he deserves to be hit by his own flyswatter more than some of the persons he loves to attack like R. C. Sproul and James White.
